John Travolta has put an end to the extortion case involving a former paramedic and their attorney accused of trying to blackmail him and his family in access of $25 million dollars. Read his heartfelt statement here and see photos and a video below.

Following the untimely death of the the Travolta’s son, defendants Tarino Lightbourne (paramedic) and Pleasant Bridgewater (his attorney) were charged with the crime of extortion, “trying to allegedly get millions from John in return for keeping an ambulance waiver secret the day Jett died.”

According to RadarOnline, Chief Counsel in the Office of the Attorney General, Neil Braithwaite, announced this morning in a Bahamas courtroom that “the defendants have been discharged.”

Today, John made the request asking the court to drop the case due to the emotional distress it has caused him and his family, it read:

“The long pending status of this matter continued to take a heavy emotional toll on my family causing us to conclude that it was finally time to put this matter behind us. Therefore, after much reflection I concluded that it was in my family’s best interest for me not to voluntarily return to The Bahamas to testify a second time at trial.”

This family has already endured so much pain with losing their only son. I’m super proud that they are able to now have some much needed closure and hopefully live peacefully.
