Princess Diana lingerie ad: Distasteful or not?

Princess Diana lingerie ads do exist and they are causing quite the controversy in China. A company in the country unveiled a line of underwear that they are promoting via the likeness of the late Princess of Wales. And it just so happens that this is the 13th anniversary of her death! See the controversial ad and other photos here!

Have you seen the Princess Diana lingerie ads that are sparking so much controversy? Wow, I cannot believe that a company would go as far as using the late Princess as their marketing tool, but it sure is giving them the attention they are wanting.

While the ad doesn’t use an exact photo of the late Diana, the model is undeniably a lookalike to her. The ad shows the model acting as a Princess, tiara and all! With a slogan like “Feel the romance of British royalty”, there is no mistaking the reference to the Princess of Wales.

The poster can been seen on large billboards throughout China and is exposed to millions on a daily basis.

So what do we know about the company producing and promoting the lingerie? Jealousy International is a company that according to its website describes the range and Diana’s fashion sense to being “French Romantic”. A slogan on their website prompts buyers to “Free your mind, free your style”.

Nothing like trying to capitalize on the anniversary of Di’s death and the popularity that the Princess had worldwide.

I am sure that Prince Charles and company are not thrilled to hear this considering even individuals in China are appalled. China resident Sam Chambers told a source, “I was just going to collect my baggage from the carousel when I saw it flash up on a rolling advertising screen and couldn’t quite believe what I was seeing.”
