Digna Carpio: ‘Sextuplets Take New York’ Mom (Photos)

Digna Carpio’s family will be featured in an upcoming TLC show called ‘Sextuplets Take New York.’ Following the announcement, reality TV fans were sent into a bit of a frenzy searching for photos and video of the family.

Will the show be Jon & Kate Plus 8 with better hair? I guess we’ll have to wait and see. One thing is for sure; Americans tune in by the millions to watch families with multiples.

The latest installment of TLC’s reality takeover will feature Digna Carpio and her husband Victor as they raise their six 22-month-old babies along with their 9-year-old son.

Right off the bat it sounds more interesting than watching Kate rip Jon a new one in rural Pennsylvania. This family hails from Queens, NY, and is apparently a little hard up for cash. According to an older report by the NY Daily News, Victor earned just $1,900 a month back in 2009. It leads me to wonder if they are receiving government support.

The network bills them as a family who is trying to raise seven kids on a budget while staying healthy and active.

There is also apparently some record breaking taking place here. The Carpio babies are reportedly the first sextuplets born to a Hispanic family in the United States.

If it becomes a full-blown series, it could be the next show piece in TLC’s portfolio of reality shows based on non-traditional families. We are already being subjected to the Duggars and Kate Plus 8, and on top of that, the network is getting ready to roll out the premiere of ‘Sister Wives’ in mid-September.

At least this new show sounds tolerable! What do you think?

It sounds better than Jon & Kate but at this point I would rather watch anything than those two idiots. At least this family seems normal, well for now anyway.

I wish someone would show them HOW to use a carseat. Not one of those kids is buckeled up right. The straps are hanging off their shoulders. I doubt they will be very safe if they get in a car accident.

But the most important thing of this show is the live among the 2 parents, so inspirening. Finally a reality show about hispanics that show’ the stuggles sometimes our people come accross,

I agree with pp that someone really needs to show them how to use car seats. I mean, what is the point of the straps when they put them in loose and most of the time the kids don’t even have the straps around their shoulders. I know they are from a different country where they probably ride with kids on their laps, but still. Hasn’t someone come forward to show them??

FINALLY!!!!!!!!! This is reality tv. A real show with real parents living life day by day with help from no one. This humble Ecuadorian family does it all. Victor works for the City of NY and Digna is a stay-at-home mom, she cooks, cleans, does laundry, helps her oldest son with his homework (as best as she can), takes the babies to their doctors appointments, not like the other garbage where they have nannies and they go on vacations, getting their pedi/mani and they are always with some type of attitude. Meanwhile, this poor couple can’t even turn on the AC because it wastes too much money and I couldn’t believe the way Digna said the other day that a lady in the street told her that she must have alot of help and that the gov’t must give her alot of money. I’m glad Digna told her like it is. Good for you Mama Carpio. There should be more shows like this because this is reality and more people need to learn how to be more humble. We have to learn from the people that weren’t lucky enough to be born here, they have to fight hard to have the little that they have. Not like all the garbage that’s on tv today and they say it is real life? Not like these women who are millionaires and they complain about the littlest thing, they make a big deal out of nothing. I hope the Carpio’s have much success with their show. Best of luck to all of them. Don’t worry I think they’ll be fine. VIVA LA RAZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
