Matthew Newton: Rachel Taylor’s Boyfriend

You have probably seen his name in print a lot today which is why I would like to introduce you to Matthew Newton who is Rachel Taylor’s boyfriend. Your curiosity is peaked isn’t it? Well keep reading to learn all about Newton which includes pictures and a video too.

Mathew Newton is the boyfriend of Rachel Taylor and as you may or may not know she has filed a restraining order against him regarding a couple of alleged incidents in Rome earlier this month that left her with serious injuries. This is not the first time Newton has been accused of domestic violence. In 2007 he pleaded guilty to punching then girlfriend Brooke Satchwel. Unfortunately for Brooke and now Rachel the conviction was overturned by the Sydney appeals court.

So other than he apparently has a violent side what do we know about Mathew? Well in terms of a bio here is what we know. Up until last night he was the host of the Australian version of The X-Factor, the new series was set to air next week. There are some reports that he was forced to quit and some that he quit on his own so not entirely sure what went down there.

Although he has appeared in many television roles and big screen films it was his film Three Blind Mice that generated the most buzz about Newton. The movie was his second as a writer and director and is what made people in the business stand up and take notice of him. Matthew seems to be popular in his native country of Australia but is relatively still unknown throughout the world.

It is no surprise that the actor, director and writer Newton ended up in showbiz. He is the son of Bert and Patti Newton who are like the Aaron Spelling of television in Australia.

Matthew Newton is Rachel Taylor’s boyfriend who although seems to have a promising career he also seems to have a serious problem. Here is hoping he gets some help and the courts actually do something this time before anyone else gets hurt.
