Maria Gabriela Perez, Chez Gabriela Studio owner has been arrested for charging bogus charges on high profile celebrity clients’ credit cards. Celebrities including Jennifer Aniston, Anne Hathaway and Liv Tyler have been reported as being victims of Perez’s actions. Yikes!

Perez, owner of the Beverly Hills Salon was arrested on Wednesday on claims that she used credit card information to charge unnecessary charges to various celebrity clients. Authorities are reporting that Perez will face two counts of fraud and could serve up to 25 years in jail if she is found guilty.

Her website boasts clients such as Jennifer Aniston, Liv Tyler, Halle Berry and Cher.

While on her promotional tour for her new movie Switch, Aniston recently brought up the salon scam that hit her. On Good Morning America, Jen said that there is “a situation that was not cool so I just stopped going to [Perez]” and she “knew something like this would eventually happen because there’s no way you can get away with that. It’s terrible.”

TMZ is reporting that Cher’s name was also on the list of clients that Perez had taken advantage of, however Cher’s reps are saying that that is news to them! They are saying that Cher was not affected by this particular scam. Perez is set to appear in court on Thursday.

    What a shame for we Spaniards, specially for those of us that are working in the upscale beauty business and working with celebrities here in the USA. She should get what she deserves.

    I saw that Perez lawyer said that all the charges were legitimated and accordingly to the salon high prices. Also the allegations were made not by the famous clients but by a jewel designer quoting them. Cher also stepped out from them. I feel now that the story is becoming confused. However, if all the above is true, where is the fraud then?

    What a shame for we the hispanics, specially for those of us who are honest and are working so hard here in the USA. Maria should get the maximum sentence and she should be ordered to restitute the money that she had obtained with the bogus charges!!!!
