As a biography, Ethan Zohn was born in Lexington, Massachusetts on November 12, 1973 so his age is 36. He is most known as Survivor: Africa winner for the hit reality tv show series. Zohn also participated on the All-Stars edition of Survivor. Following his big win, Ethan was able to co-found an organization called Grassroot Soccer that helps raise awareness and donations to help fight HIV/AIDS. As a soccer enthusiast, Zohn was given the opportunity to become a sideline reporter for the US National Team’s matches with ESPN for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Ethan also became a co-host for the Metro Soccer Report and later began hosting FC Fox on the Fox Soccer Channel. Zohn suffers from a rare type of cancer called Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Fortunately, as of April of 2010, his illness has gone into remission.

According to reports, Ethan Zohn is a true survivor. Not only because he is the Survivor: Africa winner, but he has beat his own battle with a rare case of Hodgkin’s lymphoma disease. With his recent fight, Zohn says:

“My health is great. I went through a stem-cell transplant in January and got good test results in April announcing that the cancer’s in remission. I’m feeling really good—excited, healthy and happy.”

Incredible news! Through the organization that which Ethan founded, Glassroots Movement, CBS Survivor is, too, teaming up to raise money and awareness for research and for those who suffer from cancer. CBS’s hit reality tv show series will join Stand Up 2 Cancer to help aid in defying the odds and send a positive message to those who hurt.

Because of Ethan’s remarkable recovery thus far, he credits the organizations and fundraisers that make this all possible. Zohn shares:
“Stem cell transplants are like pressing the reset button on your body. I was in isolation for close to a month. But science is amazing, cancer research is unbelievable, and I’m here because of it.”

This can definitely make a difference in the lives of others who suffer from various illness. Ethan Zohn, Survivor: Africa winner will join other celebrities in the Stand Up 2 Cancer telecast on September 10, 2010. Be sure to make your donations and help with the fight to survive!
