Stephanie Miller lesbian radio host? That’s right folks, the progressive talk show host has officially announced that she is a gay woman. Reade more and see photos and video here!

Radio host Stephanie Miller has always been vocal about supporting gay rights, but today she disappointed a lot of men when she officially came out as a lesbian.

She had been out to her family and friends for nearly 15 years, so it seemed only natural to let her listeners know the real her. She completely opened up about her experiences saying that she has been in relationships, and even fallen in love with men, but she is simply more comfortable in a relationship with a woman. She believes that many people are born gay or bi and it is not a choice.

After her announcement
, she receives several calls from supporters – and friends including Chely Wright, who also recently came out.

Miller said that it was necessary to come out with all of the gay rights issues currently in the public eye.

Miller grew up in a conservative Republican home and refers to herself as a washed up stand-up comic. For a short period of time had a television show on MSNBC, also called The Stephanie Miller Show.

The Stephanie Miller Show airs 6 – 9 AM Pacific Time (9 AM – 12 Noon Eastern Time), M-F on 64 affiliates around the United States, and can also be heard online at StephanieMiller.com.

So readers what do you think about Miller coming out as a gay woman? Does it shock you, or were you suspecting this whole time? Does it change your opinion about here?

I say good for her! She can finally be herself in her personal and professional life! Check out video of Stephanie below and then leave me your thoughts in the comment section!

I love Steffi and listen to her everyday. While I am straight (and will support her and the mooks forever), I wish she would have been in the trenches as a gay woman long ago (and not just an ambiguous “gay sympathizer.”) Members of her audience would have understood her orientation from the very beginning. As for the question of advertiser support, I would have thought that the stigma of being gay ended in the ’70’s. I am proud of Steph for finally coming out. I just wish she would have fought for her beliefs when it was still “risky.” It’s my hope that, in the future, hiding will no longer be a solution to fear.

Not surprising…I support anyone in their sexual preferences.
