Minneapolis Star Tribune confirms Brett Favre News! Football jersey number four may be retired! I know, I know, we’ve heard it all before, right? Well, it is no doubt. Today is a big day for Minnesota Vikings fans. As the start of the NFL football season gets closer and training camp has already begun, the absence of Brett Favre had many fans wondering as to whether they would see Favre sporting the number four jersey for just one more season.

Last year the Minnesota Vikings made the final four, but came up short on their journey to a Super Bowl win after they were barely defeated by the Super Bowl champs the New Orleans Saints.

Throughout the entire off season, Brett was unsure as to whether he would make the return to football, but we’ve all heard this before. Favre is like the quarterback who cries wolf with his retiring, un-retiring and now supposedly retiring again?

As an avid Minnesota Vikings fan myself, I’m rather frustrated to hear the rumors that the old man won’t be returning, but is this for real? While we haven’t heard it from Brett’s mouth officially, the chances are good that this could be the end of a football career for Favre.

After Tuesday morning’s practice the Vikings coach Brad Childress said that he wasn’t sure and didn’t say as to whether Brett would be coming back. He stated, “This is a very fluid situation.” In fact, Childress hasn’t even heard anything from Favre. “I’m not a big hearsay person. I’m a horse-say person. I’ve got to hear it from the horse’s mouth.”

So why wouldn’t Brett come back to play for a 20th season, especially if he is reported to be paid a whopping 13 million dollars? Apparently, Favre is still recovering from an ankle surgery that was a result of an injury Favre endured during the Vikings-Saints overtime game.

So what do you think of the Minneapolis Star Tribune’s Brett Favre news? Until I hear it from Brett’s mouth, I’m not believing it!

Supposedly he is practicing on a field in Mississipi, after allegedly telling Vikings players that he won’t be returning.

I don’t think he is retiring.

Four years running of…will he retire or won’t he. Gettin’ old – both he and the wishy washiness.
