Will you be watching Vanessa Hudgens in Rent this summer? Well the time is ticking until Vanessa’s August 6th debut and even though she is an experienced actress, she is a tad nervous for her stage debut.

In less than a month, Vanessa will be performing on the stage at Hollywood Bowl. About her upcoming performance, Vanessa told Access Hollywood, “Right now it’s just another stage. If I saw it, I would be freaked out. I mean it, it’s amazing. I’m just honestly trying not to think about it. I’ve never been to a show at the Hollywood Bowl so it’s just gonna be another stage. And I just love performing, so I just can’t wait to be up there.”

Vanessa will play the role of Mimi. Let’s hope she pulls it off. Apparently they haven’t even started rehearsing. She says, “We still have not started rehearsals. We only have about 10, 11 days of rehearsal so I’m just learning all the songs, making sure I know them in and out, so when I go all they have to do is tell me where to stand and how to move.”

About her role previously played by Rosario Dawson and Spice Girl Mel B. Vanessa says, “Oh my god, I love the part of Mimi. She’s a phenomenal character, she’s such an amazing art, gets the best songs, and it’s just a lot of fun.”

Other actors joining this cast of Rent include: Wayne Brady, Collins Pennie and Nicole Scherzinger.

I absolutely love Vanessa and since I love Rent, I think she is a brilliant choice! Hopefully it doesn’t take her more than five hundrend twenty five thousand six hundred minutes to get her lines down =)
