A ‘Ferris Bueller’ star arrested after failing to update his status as a registered sex offender in California is back in the news this week. Find out what Jeffrey Jones allegedly did, and see photos and video here.

Ferris Bueller Star

***Update The man who played the role as Principal Rooney not only celebrates his 64th birthday but also reportedly plead guilty to the charge of failing to update his sex offender registration. So instead of possibly getting three years in a state prison, he was sentenced to three years probation along with 250 hours of community service! What a deal…but is it right one?

Ironically, the man who played the principal in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off may be the last person who belongs around high-school age kids.

Back in 2003, he was accused of paying off a 14-year-old boy to pose nude for a series of pictures, including a few where he coaxed the boy into playing a sick version of ‘cowboys and Indians.’ A judge apparently gave him three years probation, and declared him an official sex offender.

Now, about seven years later, he is still haunted by the issue. Mr. Jones has reportedly failed to update his information with the state, which has left the ‘Ferris Bueller’ star arrested. He was taken in two weeks ago on June 23rd. TMZ reports that failing to do so constitutes a felony. At press time, he was released on $20,000 bail.

So what’s next for the embattled actor? It’s fair to assume that he faces an upcoming court date. Legal analysts have indicated that the actor could face up to three years in prison.

I’m going with yet another slap on the wrist. Let’s remember that he made a similar mistake back in 2004, when he moved without providing his new info for the registry. Even then, he didn’t suffer very severe consequences.

Could this second gaffe actually lead to a real punishment? We’ll have to wait and see. Do you think Jeffrey Jones deserves a third chance? Feel free to give us your thoughts in the comments section below.

Until then, check out some photos and video related to the ‘Ferris Bueller’ star arrested.

Regardless of social status, anyone who has violated a child should be castrated. A child has no defense against an adult. The adult knows what he/she is doing…. and the child will suffer for that persons actions for the rest of their life. Wrong is not a strong enough word for a sex offender. Once a person is charge as a sex offender they should do prison time. A slap on the wrist is just that! No big deal. Celeb. status should not matter…… nothing matters except protecting our children, which seems to be a low priority for the legal system. I don’t understand why a the courts feel the criminal has a higher priority level then the vilolated victim. Jeffrey should be in jail…period!!

He knows he has to report any changes in his status (i.e.address, phone #,etc) to his local law enforcement jurisdiction as this is discussed with him when he initially registers. That he chooses to do otherwise is another matter and I’m sooo damm happy that they arrest losers like him when they are out of compliance. I know cause I work for law enforcement. He just seems to take it all in stride and makes a mockery of his situation. He like many other offenders just choose to ignore the facts and think they can get away with it…but…alas!!…their azzes get arrested for not complying. I just wished they all got hit by a damm lightning bolt so I don’t have to see them!!
