Another legend has passed away, in his home on Sunday. At age 81, Jimmy Dean’s dead. He has had health issues, but seemed to be doing just fine, and his sudden passing was a shock to his wife. Read more of the sad details below with a video.

The Texas born man’s name was known in both the music and food industries. His big country hit “Big Bad John” made it to number one in the country music charts in 1961. He also started the infamous sausage company in 1969, and after making it very popular, sold it to Sara Lee Foods in ’84, staying on as chairman and spokesperson. He has also has a major impact on some other famous people.

As for the widow, her and her late husband just moved back into their renovated home. She will miss him dearly and summed him up in a few words. “He was amazing,” she said. “He had a lot of talents.” Other than leaving an obvious impression on Donna Meade Dean, he also helped bring Jim Henson (you know, the Muppets) into the limelight!
