Art Linkletter reportedly died at his Bel-Air, Los Angeles home on Wednesday at the age of 97 of natural causes. The tv host lived an incredibly long life. Be sure to check out photos and videos below.

As a biography, not too much is known about Lois Foerster, Art Linkletter’s wife. However, one can assume that she and Art had an undying love for one another. Their marriage is known to be one of the longest celebrity marriages in history, marking over 74 years. They wed on November 25, 1935 and together, they have five children: Arthur Jack, Dawn, Robert, Sharon, and Diane. Unfortunately, the couple lost three children. Sadly, on October 4, 1969 their daughter Diane committed suicide, on September 12, 1980 Robert was killed in an automobile accident, and their son Arthur Jack lost his life to lymphoma.

According to reports, the marvelous tv host presented for the following tv/radio shows: People Are Funny, House Party, and Art Linkletter’s House Party. Furthermore, Linkletter was especially known for his bubbly interviews with kids and his interaction with the general population. Stemming from these questions, he brilliantly included their comments in a million-dollar book that he titled, “Kids Say The Darndest Things”.

Linkletter’s son-in-law, Art Hershey, was available for comment and said this of his peaceful death:

“He lived a long, full, pure life, and the Lord had need for him. Bear in mind he was 97 years old. He wasn’t eating well, and the aging process took him.”

Despite their tragedies, the couple’s strength must have been stronger than steel. In a past interview, he spoke on behalf of their losses:

“Life is not fair … not easy. Outside, peer pressure can wreak havoc with the nicest families. So that’s the part that’s a gamble. But I’m an optimist. Even though I’ve had tragedies in my life, and I’ve seen a lot of difficult things, I still am an optimist.”

What a remarkable man. It’s no wonder their marriage could see through so much misfortune.

So now the time has come to celebrate the tv show host’s life and legacy. For Lois Foerster, Art Linkletter’s wife, one can only assume that she will say “see you later” to her beloved husband. My thoughts and prayers go out to his adored companion and surviving two daughters, Dawn and Sharon. Not only immediate family, but all those who he has touched during his lifetime.
