Meet Charla Nash. She is incredibly unfortunate to be known as a chimpanzee’s victim. A celebrity chimp, named Travis, changed the way she sees the world ever since that gruesome day when she was attacked and mauled last year. Find out more revealing details and see the photo of what she looks like now, which may be disturbing to some viewers. Also, see a video of the breaking news of the aftermath of the attack right here.

Miraculously, the time has come. The chimpanzee’s victim, Charla Nash, has reportedly been discharged from the Cleveland Clinic after more than a year from when the horrid attack took place. Be sure to check out pictures and videos below. Again, the photo may be disturbing.

As a biography, Charla Nash was born on November 10, 1953 so her age is 56. She is from Stamford, Connecticut. Nash was viciously attacked by Travis the Chimp on February 16, 2009. The owner of the chimpanzee is a friend of Charla’s, Sandra Herold. The chimpanzee’s victim actually worked for the towing company that which the Herold’s own. So when Travis left their home one day, with Sandra’s keys to her car, she contacted Nash to assist in getting the chimp back inside the home. However, when Nash arrived, Travis suddenly attacked her causing horrific injury to her face and hands. During the attack, Herold sought a shovel and a knife to try and subdue the wild primate but was unsuccessful. Police were called and when Travis attempted to intimidate authorities, police shot the chimp and he later died. As a result from the mauling, Charla suffers serious disfiguration of her face, including the loss of her: eyes, nose, lips, mid-face bone structure, hands, and brain tissue injury. However, in the future she hopes to qualify to receieve an experimental face transplant. Since the attack, her family has established a trust fund to aid in her medical bills and daughter’s well-being. Nash has also made her first public appearance on November 11, 2009 on the Oprah Winfrey Show claiming she feels no physical pain nor any recollection of the incident that changed her life indefinately.

According to reports, Charla Nash has been released from the Cleveland Clinic where she was being treated for a gruesome attack by a celebrity chimp, Travis. The chimpanzee’s victim will move into an assisted living center in the Boston, Massachusetts where she will receive “physical and occupational therapy to learn skills that will hopefully allow her to be independent.”

In an interview with Oprah on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Charla shared that she remains positive and “is focused on healing”. The Cleveland Clinic reported that Nash is making “great progress” since the brutal attack more than a year ago and also released the following statment:

“Ms. Charla Nash has made great progress in her recovery. She is doing well and has been discharged from the Cleveland Clinic. Throughout her stay she has touched the lives of many of our employees; we wish Charla and her family all the best.”

Wow, what a lucky lady who has endured incredibly so much! I wish the chimpanzee’s victim, Charla Nash, nothing but the best for her future. She seems so upbeat about her recovery, when most of us would not want to show the world our face. You are an inspiration to all!
