Christel Khalil Hensley, who plays Liliy Winters on The Young & The Restless, is a brand new mom to baby Michael Caden Hensley. Little Michael was born on April 17th weighing in at 6 lbs and 6 ounces. Christel’s husband Michael announced the news via Twitter. Christel and Michael were married in September of 2008 in a very private intimate ceremony with only family and friends, which included some of her costars.
Christel, who added the last name Hensley when she got married, is a California girl through and through. She was born and raised in Los Angeles so it is no wonder the acting bug caught her at the age of five which is when she began acting classes and auditioning. In fact Christel has said that she never once considered another career path, which is lucky for us Y&R fans because she is awesome.
Although she had roles in films and television shows like Family Matters and The Sinbad Show it was the role of Lily that gave Christel her big break in 2002 at the age of 15. She immediately became a fan favorite and proved she had the acting chops to stand out in scenes with vets like Victoria Rowell and Kristoff St. John. Christel briefly left the role that made her a household name in order to spread her wings in 2005, however she was back on the show by the end of 2006. She may be known for her television roles but Hensley has also appeared in movies like Dragon Fury, Matilda and White Like The Moon.
