Tim Burton: Addams’ Family Movie in 3D

There is no doubt that Tim Burton is a director with an interesting vision, a creative and eclectic style that is different from the rest. You know a Burton movie when you see one. But now in a brave move to take a classic and revamp it, Burton would be one to have the gall. Rumor has it that Tim Burton is taking on The Addams’ Family and putting it in 3D. Read more here.

If anyone can put a freaky and horrifying twist to The Addams’ Family, it would be Tim Burton. He has done amazing work with A Nightmare Before Christmas and Alice In Wonderland, but can he pull off a classic such as a 3D version of The Addams’ Family?

According to the Deadline, “the goal is to create a stop-motion animated film in 3D”. Currently there is no writer for the Addams flick, but sources are saying that this version will be original in the sense that it will not show relation to the television series or the movie starring Raul Julia and Anjelica Huston. Although, it surely will be difficult not to think of the other classic versions.

What I am interested to see is what actor’s voices will be chosen for the roles of the characters in the “Family”. Would it be too much of a copy-cat move to choose Christina Ricci as the voice of Wednesday?

Let’s hope that Burton is an efficient and talented multi-tasker. He is said to have three other movies that he has in the works, so it definitely makes me wonder when he is going to have time to devote his time to The Addams Family.
