February 14, 2010

If you tuned in to watch the Opening Ceremonies of the Vancouver Winter Olympics, you more than likely saw the debut of We Are The World25 For Haiti. Check out photos and the video of the star studded cast below.

Quincy Jones Lionel Richie

It was 1985…I remember it vividly when the original We Are The World was released. It was co-written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie. The 47 artists that came together were dubbed USA For Africa. The USA for Africa Foundation benefited from the proceeds of the single, and to date, over $63 million has been raised for the charity.

Flash forward 25 years, and with the recent tragedy of the Haiti earthquake last month, the song was recorded once again, with some new voices lending their hands. Check out a picture of some of the artists over at Bumpshack.
