It is said that funny man Conan O’Brien issued a statement today, stating that he will not accept NBC’s pitch, moving him to the suggested time slot of 12:05 a.m. ET.

MTV reports that O’Brien signed a contract with NBC six years ago to fill the seat of Jay Leno for his retirement starting in June of 2009 allowing him to take over as host of “The Tonight Show”. Apparently he was sadly mistaken. O’Brien says, “It was my mistaken belief that, like my predecessor, I would have the benefit of some time and, just as important, some degree of ratings support from the prime-time schedule. Building a lasting audience at 11:30 is impossible without both.” He adds that they were not given the chance after only a seven month run with the show because NBC “decided to react to their terrible difficulties in prime-time by making a change in their long-established late night schedule.”

Conan also states, “There has been speculation about my going to another network but, to set the record straight, I currently have no other offer and honestly have no idea what happens next. My hope is that NBC and I can resolve this quickly so that my staff, crew, and I can do a show we can be proud of, for a company that values our work.”

He says that he has worked long and hard to achieve this opportunity and reportedly passed advantageous offers prior to accepting the position and his purpose was to better the franchise’s longevity.

It is said that O’Brien does not allegedly have any other offers from other networks nor does he have the knowledge of what is to become of his career.

The Tonight Show saga is apparently no laughing matter, and neither is Jay, in my opinion. And Conan, we love your hair, kudos! Leno is an egomaniacal oozing pustule on the butt of tv. He has never been, and will never be, even the slightest bit funny. (Not to mention that he’s nauseatingly ugly.)

Conan, on the other hand, has style, class, wit, and integrity. Four things that Leno has no clue about.

    Team Conan all the way!

TEAM CONAN ALL THE WAY! Jay Leno should of stuck with retiring because he is no longer funny. If he takes the Tonight Show away from Conan, he will not have any ratings because he sucks! Conan O’ Brien is hilarious and should stay on the Tonight Show!
