Taylor Momsen’s Seventeen interview may come back to bite her later down the road. Find out what the Gossip Girl star said and check out her photos and video here.

Taylor Momsen got her big break starring as Cindy Lou Who in How The Grinch Stole Christmas back in 2000. Since then she had landed some other roles, but nothing big until Gossip Girl. And let’s face it, as much as I am obsessed with that show, it is not going to go down in history as the next 90210 or anything (and we already have one of those too.) So I was surprised in her recent Seventeen interview where she talked about fame, angst, and came off sounding like a spoiled brat.

She started off by calling out Lindsay Lohan, while not liking to drop names of course,

“I get such a bad rap for being like Lindsay Lohan. I hate naming names because she’s really sweet — and I’m really not. I don’t go out. I have no desire to be some tabloid party girl. I’m entirely a loner. I have been my entire life.”

Yikes, she tried to fix that one, but everyone knows the Hollywood rule: Don’t talk smack about another starlet, or its war. Especially with Lilo. And I am sorry, Lindsay was a teen superstar, and could not be compared to Momsen.

Taylor also talks about being called “angsty.”

“I’ll be angsty until I’m 80 years old,” she quips. “I think that keeps things fresh. But I always think angst is such a derogatory word toward teenagers. It just means you’re figuring s*** out.”

But Taylor’s not figuring things out, she already knows what she wants.

“[People] think most 16-year-olds don’t know what they want to do. But I actually really do, because I’ve been thinking about [music] since I was 2.”

She sounds like a sassy teenager who thinks too highly of themselves and their accomplishments. Let’s give it ten years and see where you are then sweetheart.

I gave you my opinion of Taylor Momsen’s Seventeen interview, so tell me yours in the comment section below after checking out the pictures and video!

The author of the article made a ton of assumptions in my opinion.
I mean, first, let me point out, that none of the QUESTIONS asked were listed. The interviewer often forces the interviewee into a “role” that they struggle to escape from.
She connects a very personal meaning to the word “angst”, I can tell. It’s not about being depressed and bipolar, and all that, but allowing your inner conflict to go on, to not suppress the thought that makes you wonder about everything you know.
And the last quote was taken entirely out of context. She’s not saying she knows for certain where her life will end up, but she has goals. Overall, a horrible and unoriginal attempt at an attack article I must say.

You can tell “She connects a very personal meaning to the word “angst”’, isn’t that an assumption? I wasnt attacking her, I was simply saying how I felt she came off in the interview, and how she has come off in the past. After writing about celebrities for several years, and making it my JOB, I think I know most of their personalities well enough (in interviews) to talk about how they come off to the public, and myself. Thanks for your comment:)

Hi Jen. Have you seen the whole interview? I ask, because I’ve seen another writer use the exact quotes as you to make pretty much the same point. Anyway, I hope that people judge her based on the quality of her work (which is pretty good IMO) rather than on some poorly chosen comments made to a teen comic.

I’m just getting so tired of this.
Taylor is such a sweet person yet everyone WANTS to bad mouth her.
Its to the point I don’t even want Taylor to open her mouth. Not because she says anything wrong but because EVERYTHING she says is taken and twisted to fit peoples/and the medias attempt to trash her. JMO.

lmao, hater much? love taylor. it’s pretty obvious that she means no harm in the quotes you used. way to twist her words to prove your points? you’re just jealous because she’s out there making it, and you’re writing for a hardly known site. grow up a little and stop attacking sixteen year olds.

Al, yes, I’ve read her whole interview but she mostly talked about her style, which I actually like. I felt that part of her interview would fit better on our fashion site.

Let me clarify – I didnt say I dont like her. I love GG, watch religiously, but my point was she just comes off as a brat in interviews and I think at 16 she could tone it down a bit.

Mia, ha! I make a pretty nice living sitting on my butt in my home office working when ever I choose. But nice try…

Happy New Years guys, thanks for your comments!

Thanks Jen. I agree that she sometimes makes dumb comments in interviews. However, one day someone will insist that she takes some media training (rule 1 – promote your product, rule 2 – don’t diss anyone, rule 3 – promote your product) and she’ll be dullsville thereafter. At the moment at least she’s open and answers questions with an admirable candor, which has to be a good thing even if she does sometimes sound like a douche.

    Jen Says:

I agree Al, she needs some media training. Even catching the redicilous episode on ANTM where they teach the girls not to trash one another would help, lol. It just annoyes me when a actor is so young and has so much potential, but they ruin it by not thinking before they speak.
