Taja Riley, his eighteen year-old daughter has reportedly been granted a temporary restraining order against her father for allegedly attacking her on December 23, 2009.

As a biography, Edward Theodore “Teddy” Riley was born on October 8, 1967 so his age is 42. He is a singer/songwriter, musician, keyboardist and producer. He was raised in St. Nicholas Houses, Harlem, New York. He has eight children: Dante Horne, 26, Dejanee, 21, Nia Riley, 20, Taja Riley, 18, Tiarra, 15, Lil Teddy, 6, Samar, 4, and Tyler, 1. Riley produced a hit single for “Kool Moe Dee” called “Go See the Doctor”. It reached the Billboard Hot 100. In 1987, he became a member of the R&B group called, “Guy”. The other members included Aaron Hall and Timmy Gatling. This opened the doors for the New Jack Swing style of R&B. This kind of style can be heard in Keith Sweat’s “Make It Last Forever”, Johnny Kemp’s “Just Got Paid”, Bobby Brown’s “My Perogative”. In 1991, Riley co-produced much of Michael Jackson’s “Dangerous” album which sold 32 million copies. In 1992, Riley founded R&B group, “Blackstreet”. Featuring songs like “Don’t Leave Me”, “No Diggity”, “Girlfriend/Boyfriend”. However, in 2005, the band split. In 2006, the New Jack Reunion Tour kicked off with showcasing Riley’s bands, Blackstreet and Guy, as well as “After 7″, “SWV” and “Tony Toni Tone.” This is the year that he also went public working on new albums for Blackstreet and Guy. As of lately, the singer has performed with “Guy” at the BET Awards. He also has been collaborating with producer Robin Thicke and Lady Gaga with their upcoming albums.

TMZ reports that according to documents filed in a LA County Superior Court, Taja claims that her father, “lifted a Rock Band guitar and threatened to kill person(s) w/ it.”

It is said that she reportedly suffered “bashes to the temple, face” and a “pain” in her knee from the alleged attack.

Within the restraining order, her father is ordered to stay 100 yards from his daughter. His court hearing is set for January 10th, 2010.
