The rumors are true. Steven Tyler has entered rehab for painkiller addiction. This is the second time Aerosmith’s lead singer has been in rehab throughout his career. Good for him though for taking the necessary steps to a safe and healthy recovery!

In an official statement released by Tyler he addresses his decision to enter rehab saying, “With the help of my family and team of medical professionals, I am taking responsibility for the management of my pain and am eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my band mates Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford. I love Aerosmith; I love performing as the lead singer in Aerosmith. am grateful for all of the support and love I am receiving and am committed to getting things taken care of.”

Liv Tyler, Steven’s daughter told People Magazine, “My family and I are in complete support of my dad’s decision to seek treatment. He is a courageous man. We love him and are so proud that he is getting help to balance his pain management, not just for himself but for his family, friends and fans.”

Good for Steven for entering rehab! Even if it took a bit of tough love from his band mates and his family and friends, what a brave and wise decision to get some help before it is too late. So seems to be the ongoing trend in Hollywood these days, the terrible painkiller addiction. Hopefully more people with this addiction take initiative to get help as well!
