It has been a long and winding road for the celebrities on Season Nine’s Dancing With The Stars, but last night was the crowning of the winner. My top pick from the get go was R and B singer Mya but despite some pretty flawless performances, Donny Osmond took home the trophy. Read more here.
Last night, November 24th, 2009 was the Dancing With The Stars finale and Donny Osmond took home that Mirror Ball trophy as the DWTS Season Nine winner. I give a big fat “boo hiss” to that, considering I thought Mya should have won, but I’m over it. My panties are no longer in a bunch.
So what exactly went down last night? Considering the finale is all about making you wait until they very final minutes of the show’s end, ABC’s prime goal was to entertain you and keep you nibbling on your nails in suspense.
It was Donny Osmond versus Mya versus Kelly Osbourne. Despite the high viewer appreciation, Kelly Osbourne just couldn’t get high enough scores from the judges and thus was voted off. Followed by an emotional Osbourne departure, it was an Donny-Mya showdown. Not only was it a close competition between the two celebrity dancers, waiting for the revelation of the winner was painful.
Both Osmond and Mya had the same total scores in the judges’ evaluations of their four dance routines in the two-night season-finale competition, but viewers made Donny the winner.
The middle of the show included a bit of comedic entertainment including a dance-off with former DWTS contestants Cloris Leachman, Jerry Springer and Steve Wozniak competing against model Joanna Krupa and her partner, Derek Hough. Jeffrey Ross and Ashley Hamilton also took part in the entertainment.
