Nathalie Blanchard was diagnosed with a case of depression and currently on leave from her job at IBM. Pictures of the depressed woman could be seen via the very popular social media outlet, Facebook, having fun, it is assumed that the alleged depression she has, is not severe enough to keep her on disability. Ouch!
As a biography, not much is known about Nathalie Blanchard. She is from Quebec and is 29 years of age. She is involved in legalities resulting in termination of her sick leave benefits due to photos that surfaced on the popular social media outlet, Facebook. She currently is taking action to reinstate her benefits due to depression.
Blanchard’s depression has caused her to be on leave from work and she has not allegedly been able to work full-time for a reported eighteen months. She said that her insurance granted her sick leave payments and apparently after gaining access of her public Facebook photos, her benefits were cut as a result.
Blanchard’s lawyer, Tom Lavin, and his client claim that she took her doctor’s advice and ventured out with friends to work better her depression. She also claims that judgment of a picture does not clarify that she is no longer depressed. She had this to say, “In the moment I’m happy, but before and after I have the same problems.” Lavin disputes, “I don’t think for judging a mental state that Facebook is a very good tool.”
It is said that her insurance company, “Manulife” were not available for comment but issued a stated saying, “We would not deny or terminate a valid claim solely based on information published on websites such as Facebook.”
Let this be a reminder, folks, that not everything is private. Nathalie Blanchard is suffering the consequences of posting private Facebook photos publicly, enabling the whole world to see her engaging in such festivities. I’m paying high premiums because some lady is sad?
If she is well enough to party, check out strippers and fly south for some fun in the sun then she is well enough to go to work.
If she is really that depressed then medicate and get back to life.
She needs a kick in the ass, and manulife provided it.

I can’t get no benefits because I take care of my brother Mike that lives in the basement, but we drink all the time, and make up stories about other people sooooo, and we smell as bad as we look, wait what???
