Did you hear about the Peru gang of fat thieves? Read the shocking story and see a video report about one of the most terrible crimes we have heard about in a long, long time.

Peru gang fat thieves

For 30 years a criminal gang in Peru has been killing people for their body fat. The human fat has then been solved to cosmetics companies in Europe, presumably to produce lipsticks, eye shadow, mascara, and wrinkle cream.

Ewe lipstick!

In the picture you can see the arrested gang members leading the police to a morbid scene. Rotting human heads and dismembered bodies were found along with two large tubs of people fat. In the video below the police hold up the vats of liquid which the gang of Peru fat thieves were extracting.

Locally the Peruvians are calling the gang ‘Pishtacos’ which is named after an ancient legend in which villagers were attacked by a legendary gang for their fat. Makes me never want to eat pistachios again.

About ten people have been identified in the gang so far and arrest warrants have been issued for each. Four of them have been arrested but the others remain out of custody including gang leader Hilario Cudena. Sounds like a great reason to diet in Peru.

They have been carrying on their game of commercial cannibalism for over 30 years in the jungles of Peru. Police in Peru expect that the gang has slaughtered almost 100 people. The human fat was reportedly worth $60,000 per gallon. Tax it and we just might solve the budget crisis.

Some cosmetics experts are questioning the validity of the story put forth by Peruvian police. The biggest questions is how much commercial value human fat would actually have on a black market. Who would buy it and who would produce cosmetics from people fat? In fact the buyer has not been busted yet.

The method of extracting fat from the bodies is horrifying. The dead bodies were suspended from meat hooks on a tree branch. Candles were lit below the body which would warm. Hot enough the body would begin to drop fat to pans below them.

That’s the story of the Peru gang, fat thieves, and everything else you never wanted to hear. See the video report below and tell us what you think in the comments.
