The Miley Cyrus bus crash is headlining today’s news. Tragically, the tour bus driver was killed as it overturned on a Virginia highway. Find out more shocking details and video here.

Apparently, William G. Douglas, 53, of Austin, Texas lost his life from allegedly losing control of the tour bus early this morning at approximately 8:15 and died at the scene.

Authorities said that, “The bus was traveling in the southbound lanes of I-85 when it ran off the left side of the road and overturned. The bus came to rest on its right side. Those on the bus were able to exit the vehicle through the front windshield.”

TMZ reported that the singer’s manager said, “It was one of our tour buses, but not Miley’s,” adding that, “It was one of our buses that transported our lighting crew.”

On behalf of the Cyrus family, they issued a statement saying, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of Bill ‘Uncle Bill’ Douglas,” expressing that, “Members of our tour are like members of our family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family in the midst of this tragedy. He will truly be missed.”

The accident is currently under investigation regarding whether the driver passed away before or after the crash took place or if the driver suffered from health-related issues.

Marty Zilio, 48, of Canada was also injured in the crash. The production crew member was taken to Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, Virginia.

It is said that Miley’s concert in Greensboro, North Carolina will go on as scheduled, this Sunday night at the Greensboro Coliseum complex.
