The New Moon reviews are in, but I am not going to base my review on them. Being a Twihard myself, and having purchased my tickets two months in advance, I can tell you this movie was an amazing improvement from Twilight. Read more here and check out photos and video.
Last night was an exciting night. My sister and I had bought our tickets two months in advance, and I am glad we did. It was a sold out crowd, we had to wait in a line that went out the door to get our preorder tickets, while the news crews filmed the chaos and excitement.
Now, I know a lot of critics have been down on the movie, but honestly I think for the most part, they are out dated and out of touch with what people want to see. If it is not a three hour, tear jerking, snoozefest, a movie gets a bad review. So here is my review, as a fan of the books – and someone who thought the first movie could have been done better. Don’t worry I won’t give away any spoilers, except one, which I will warn you ahead of time.
This time around I really feel that the actors fell into their own. They were much more comfortable in character, especially Taylor Lautner. That kid is not only ripped, but he is a talented young actor. Kristen Stewart usually bugs me with her nervous fidgety acting, but it worked this time around and she seems to use at the appropriate times.
This time, the movie stayed pretty close to the book, and the only things different were additions that improved the movie. I am not saying they should be added to the book, but for the movie, they worked.
The werewolves were remarkable, right down to the part in the book where she describes looking into the werewolf’s eyes.
“The wolf’s eyes were dark, nearly black. It gazed at me for a fraction of a second, the deep eyes seeming too intelligent for a wild animal. As it starred at me, I suddenly thought of Jacob – again, with gratitude.”
This part was really well done, throughout the whole movie. And the vampires were really fast, and much less cheesy than in Twilight. Their high speed was incredible, especially in the fight scenes.
As far as the length of the movie, I appreciate the time put into this movie, and I would rather have a longer movie, that stays true to the book, that some shortened POS just to save time. I don’t feel that they left out anything vital, and everything put in was necessary.
I have to say, I had low expectations when going into this movie. Twilight disappointed me – I felt they strayed from the book too much, and the actors hadn’t quite “appreciated” their characters. This time around it was done in a way that stayed true to the book and true to the beloved characters, but and I can connect to the interpretation of the movie. After all, we all see the books in a different perspective.
Now for my SPOLIER * SPOILER * SPOLIER * SPOILER * SPOILER * SPOILER
**Getting a glimpse of Bella as a vampire put this movie over the top for me. With Breaking Dawn still in talks, it gave me something to really look forward to and I really appreciated that they were connecting it to the other books. Especially Breaking Dawn, which happens to be my favorite. **
Over all I enjoyed the movie, and I hope you find my New Moon review helpful. I am no “critic”, just a fan of the books and I think that those are the opinions that matter. Tell me your thoughts in the comment section below after checking out photos and video. Anyone have any idea when we will see a trailer for Eclipse? It has to be soon right!

You know I complete 100% agreee. I thought the movie was a huge step up from Twilight. I personally thought the movie was great. The eactors all did a great job and everything was very well done according to the book. I am also a fan of the books. But I definitely agree with you on everything you said.

I agree with everything you all have said and I loved the movie. The only real part I did not like is the way they ended it. I thought they would of at least finished the book out and not left it where they did.
