Irina Shabayeva is Season Six’s “Project Runway” winner! Althea Harper took second place and third place went to Carol Hannah Whitfield.

As a biography, Irina Shabayeva was born in The Republic of Georgia on January 29, 1982 so her age is 27. The fashion designer currently lives in New York, New York and is the Season Six winner of Lifetime’s reality tv show series “Project Runway”. She is a fashion designer with a BFA from Parsons School of Design with five years of experience in fashion. Her favorite designer is Jean Paul Gaultier. Her style icons include Sophia Loren, Cleopatra and Queen Elizabeth. Her favorite “Project Runway” designer is Rami Kashou from Season Four. Shabayeva has said she would love to design for Madonna, Rihanna, Nicole Kidman and Scarlett Johansson.

It is said that Shabayeva’s fashion status was quite dramatic incorporating the color black which created structure in her pieces that would accommodate all women instead of just certain class. Even though Irina lacked color in her collection, the judges still chose her as Season Six’s “warrior woman”.

Her New York look won her the first, grand prize of $100,000, her model Kalyn Hempill to be featured in a spread for Marie Claire’s magazine, as well as a trip to fashion’s capital of the world, Paris. Now wouldn’t that be nice!

The Project Runway winner said this of her victory, “I can’t believe it!” adding, “I’m definitely proud of myself.” She says that there was incredibly “stiff” competition, and she is right.
