Alexandra Kerry, 36, was arrested in Hollywood, Thursday, for what is believed to be an expired automobile registration. After refusing a field sobriety test, the film-maker was taken to the station and just passed a breathalyzer test. She was released after a short stay at jail and bond of $5,000.
As a biography, Alexandra Forbes Kerry was born on September 5th in 1973 so her age is 36. Her parents are Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry and Julia Thorne. After 18 years of marriage, her parents divorced in 1988. She has a youonger sister named Vanessa Kerry. In 2004, both children were involved in John Kerry’s Presidential campaign. Kerry attended and graduated Milton Academy. She also graduated from Brown University where she studied anthropoloy and modern culture and media. In 2004, Alexandra graduated from the AFI Conservatory in the directing program. There she received the Richard Rogers award of excellence. She directed a short film called “The Last Full Measure” which was shown at the Cannes Film Festival winning numerous awards nationwide. In 2008, Kerry co-wrote and directed several documentaries including: lJessica Shattuck’s novel called “The Hazards of Good Breeding”, “Be Like Others”, Naomi Wolf’s “The End of America: A Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot”, and “The Jena 6″. In September of 2008, Kerry released her book called “Notes from the Trail” about politics. She currently is an executive director at “Tar Films” and editor of “Tar” magazine.
About the incident, Officer Sara Faden affirmed that, “She was arrested for driving under the influence,” adding that, “She bailed out on $5,000 and was released at 5:25 a.m.”
A spokesperson for the Massachusetts Democratic party said, “Senator Kerry supports his daughter and will have no further comment on a private matter.”
Prosecutors will determine whether John Kerry’s daughter will be formally charged or if the case will be dismissed. The case is said to be under review and a December 10th court date is scheduled.
