Not only is Alicia Keys a talented singer and songwriter, she is expanding her brand that involves taking on a jewelry line. With the decline of the celebrity clothing line, perhaps jewelry just may prove successful for Keys. Read more about the Alicia Keys jewelry line The Barber’s Daughters here.
Singer Alicia Keys has topped the charts with her music but could she become a well-respected jewelry line designer too? Sure, why not?! The name of the line? The Barber’s Daughters.
Keys has decided to jump aboard the fashion train by teaming up with designer Gisele Theriault for a jewelry line set to release in early 2010.
The Barber’s Daughters is the name of the line that Keys is working on. So what can we expect as far as design from Keys and Theriault?
About the jewelry pieces, Keys told Women’s Wear Daily, “I fell in love with the individuality of the pieces, but more than that, the words that were written on them really resonated with the songwriter in me. I knew at that moment, for the first time, that through a whole other medium I would be able to spread inspiration, and that’s what got me started.”
Each piece of the silver and gemstone collection is inscribed with poetry and prayers of Masaru Emoto. Sounds fabulous!
About her partnership with Keys, Theriault says, “When it comes to creating, whatever the medium, around issues of the heart and living a life that aims to give back, we found a beautiful harmony with each other.”
Already a big fan of the jewelry? Halle Berry. Rumor has it that she purchased a one-of-a-kind piece for $40,000 at a charity auction!
However unless you are willing to dish out some dough for some jewelry (or you have a rich mom or dad you need to start sucking up to) will you be able to own a piece of Alicia Keys’ jewelry line. Prices are ranging anywhere from $85 to $2,500! You can check out the line and make a purchase at thebarbersdaughters.com.
