Shaunie Nelson, Shaquille O’Neal’s wife filed for legal separation with intent to divorce this week. Read her biography here, along with photos and video.
Shaunie and the basketball behemoth had been married nearly 7 years before filing the paperwork this Monday. The documents cited “irreconcilable differences,” and included a request for spousal and child support along with full custody of their four children.
So far it is unclear how much money she is seeking, but I’m guessing it may be enough to sink a yacht. I mean, did you watch the episode of ‘Cribs’ with Shaq’s mansion? He has more square footage in his shower than my whole house!
In a statement to the press, Shaq said:
“Obviously, this is a difficult time for our family, and we request that the media respect our privacy. I will continue to focus on being there for our children and I am confident that Shaunie will do the same.”
In terms of a biography of Shaquille O’Neal’s wife, Shaunie Nelson, there isn’t too much available. What we do know is that the two were married on December 26, 2002. They have four children together named Me’arah, Shaquir, Amirah, and Shareef.
Both of them brought a child from a previous relationship into the mix. When they married, Shaq became the step-father of Shaunie’s son Myles, and she became the step-mother of Shaq’s daughter Taahirah.
Just a few years ago Shaq reportedly filed for divorce himself, but they were able to work things out, and in 2008 decided to give it another try.
