Sammy Sosa’s skin appears to be getting lighter as time goes on. People have even begun comparing it to the gradual change in Michael Jackson’s skin. Get the details here.
In some recent photographs taken at an appearance at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas Sosa appears to have a much lighter complexion. Immediately after the photos hit the net, people began to speculate that steroid use could be the culprit.
Earlier this year shocked fans learned that he had in fact used steroids in 2003—so why would his skin suddenly change six years later? Acquaintances of Sosa have come forward to comment on his changing appearance, claiming that his constant exposure to the sun caused him to become concerned over the health of his skin.
The Chicago Tribune quoted Rebecca Polihronis, who worked with him while he played for the Cubs. About Sammy Sosa’s skin, She said:
“He’s not trying to be Michael Jackson. He is going through a rejuvenation process for his skin. Women have it all of the time. He was surprised he came out looking so white. I thought it was a body double. Part of (the photo appearance) is just the lighting.”
It appears that the results of the process even surprised Sammy, who reportedly told Polihronis:
“If you saw me in person, you would be surprised. When you see me in person, it is not going to seem like the picture.”
You have to see the before and after pictures. It’s actually kind of creepy. If it is just a matter of skin treatment, those are some serious side effects! We’ll just have to wait and see how he looks next time the cameras are around.
Until then, check out some photos and video of Sammy Sosa’s skin below.

I feel so ashamed for him, is he serious??? You bleached out your beautiful chocolate colour put contacts in your eyes and you think you look good? Hell no. white skin and blue eyes look beautiful on caucasians because it matches their features. You just look like an uncle tom wannabe. i myself am a light skinned black woman from the Caribbean and i have never felt the so-called ‘perks’ of being light-skinned. Ppl look up to you, young black boys look up to you, what will they think of themselves now that even someone in your position can’t handle baing black? I agree with No.1, white ppl are laughing their asses off and so are we.
