Kirstie Alley’s reality show is coming next year to A&E. The show will be centered on her battle to maintain an ideal body weight while the mother of two manages a hectic personal and professional life.
Her plight to stay fit has been in the public eye for quite some time. She worked as a spokeswoman for the weight loss program Jenny Craig, which appeared to work for her for a few years. She shed nearly 100 lbs, and triumphantly appeared on Oprah to show off her trim figure.
A few years later she was no longer the face of Jenny Craig, and the weight had returned—and them some. She even appeared in interviews discussing how difficult it was to stay with the routine. Now she’s back to bare all in a new series, which is already scheduled for 10 episodes.
The new docu-series will follow her life as a mom and relentless hard worker. It will not only focus on a new weight loss program, but get this… her aspirations as an inventor! Huh? My favorite bizarre detail is that the show will also feature her “eight ringtail lemurs.” It kind of sounds like ‘Madagascar.’ Oh, and don’t forget, she’s single and ready to mingle!
It actually sounds pretty interesting. I mean, aren’t you tired of watching reality shows that follow people who have perfect little kush lives? (The Hills, do you hear me knockin?) Sure, she’s got some cash, but she also seems to have a lot in common with the everyday American.
About the new show, an exec at A&E told Variety:
“Kirstie is exactly the kind of star A&E is drawn to…Her personal life has been playing out in the media for years, but this will be the first time she’ll be opening up her home to reveal her real life for the cameras.”
I’m looking forward to it. Will you watch Kirstie Alley’s reality show?
