Actress Kate Hudson is on the UK Elle cover and is featured in an interview, notably discussing her recent 20-pound weight loss for her role in the movie Earthbound, in which she portrays a woman terminally ill and in love with her doctor, portrayed by Gael Garcia Bernal.
The December 2009 issue of the magazine hits newsstands in Great Britain on Weds., but in the meantime we are fortunate to be able to see some gorgeous and sultry pictures of the actress in a black swimsuit and cat-like eyeliner and make-up here, and read some excerpts from the absorbing and wide ranging discussion including her thoughts on Botox. And, of course, not least, find out how she lost the weight.
She tells the magazine she presently weighs around 110 pounds, and reveals what she did to drop the pounds was to stop drinking alcohol while confessing it was not easy.
“I love my glass of wine. I love tequila. To be in New York for two weeks and not have one beverage! I’m not sure I’ve ever done that.”
As for the movie, for which she made the sacrifice, it was directed by Nicole Kassell and written by Gren Wells, and is, surprisingly, a romantic comedy, terminal illness aside. She also appears in the forthcoming and highly anticipated musical Nine.
The 30-year-old actress and girlfriend of New York Yankees’ third baseman Alex Rodriquez a.k.a. A-Rod addressed the engagement rumors in the UK Elle interview and also, shared some affirming views both of the Botox procedure and its users.
I was in a press conference once, and someone says, ‘So, I can tell you’ve never had Botox!’ Is that a compliment? Or are you trying to say I’m starting to get wrinkles? I literally was like, ‘What?’ Everyone’s so obsessed with who gets Botox, but it’s great! Are you kidding? The fact that women can avoid going under the knife, and get a little Botox treat and not have to worry about it? I’m glad it’s there for when it’s time.”
