A dog spends $62 while owners sleep, but how? Well it seems this pooch is an Xbox fan, because he purchased 5000 Microsoft points while his owners were snoozing.
This is my kind of dog. Rather than spend the night chewing on mundane raw-hide bones, or ruining a shoe or two, Oscar decided to load up on Xbox points. Don’t know what they are? Xbox points are used to make purchases on Xbox live, such as games and videos.
As Greg Strope and Christine Payne snoozed Oscar apparently began gnawing on an Xbox controller. As he chewed, he managed to navigate his way through a few menus and eventually a confirmation to purchase more points. What amazes me is that he would’ve had to turn on the console first, which can be done by holding down a button in the center of the controller for a few seconds.
It all unraveled as Greg woke up to notice an email on his phone. The message was a confirmation sent by Microsoft to thank him for his recent purchase. Baffled, he went to turn on the game console, only to find the controller with a nice layer or slob on it. But why blame innocent little Oscar? He says:
“The only living creature that could have done it was the dog.”
I’m thinking Greg is the kind of guy who tried the whole “my dog ate my homework” bit in high school. Either way, he told reporters that he didn’t even bother trying to get a refund, but he had one complaint:
“I just wish they’d make it a little harder to purchase points.”
Personally I think Oscar was trying to get his hands on the ‘Bolt’ video game, which is based on the Disney film. What do you think?
