ABC affiliate WJLA is getting some backlash for deciding to use a woman for their Breast exam video. Usually charts or animations are used in video to demonstrate how to give a breast exam. Read more and see the video here.

you gotta be kidding me. movies show naked women and their breast all the time. yet there is a problem with showing an examination!!

I agree I think that this is a very important cause and we should not look at it as being nude rather we should view it as a medical tutorial. It is telling you how to complete the exam and its importance right. Well those that have had Breast Cancer (at least my grnadmother) would have jumped for a showing. So no I do not think it is wrong to show this but I think it should be at night once the kids go to bed.

i just wanna say thank you to the lady in the video being a full time single father with no mother in the picture its nice to know that there are recources that will lighten the subject and ease the embarassement for a young lady having the girlie talks with daddy

First of all, censorship in light of the issue at hand is silly. With that out of the way, I have an idea: Have a male model demonstrate the breast self-exam. Men are vulnerable to breast cancer also, and the exam is the same regardless of gender. This would appease the prudes and censors, and would get on with the much more important business of showing people how to help save their own lives. Besides, the ladies might enjoy watching a buff guy give himself an exam, and pay more attention…
