I think it would make for great TV. Not that Taylor didn’t have anything going before the Kanye incident at the VMAs, but I sure heard her name a WHOLE lot more afterwards. Sure, she sold tons of records, and has a solid spot in rotation at most TOP 40 radio stations—but when she was interrupted during her speech for one of Kanye’s tirades, boy did she blow up!
After the incident she took off so fast that some people even called it a conspiracy. I mean who doesn’t want to support a young girl who was just dissed in front of a worldwide audience? I’ll go ahead and stop short of the tin-foil hat approach—all you had to do is take a look at her face after he grabbed the mic from her to tell it was totally unexpected.
Either way, it would bring back the hype surrounding the scandal in a major way if they both appeared on SNL together. Especially because Taylor would be in the hosting position, giving her a leg up in the situation. It would also give Kanye yet another shot at redemption, one that he may sorely need during his sudden downward spiral.
Being that it is a comedy show, it would be hysterical if they could somehow spoof themselves. I can envision Swift opening the show, then suddenly Kanye runs out and grabs the microphone…I think it would be TV gold…then again maybe I’m easily entertained. Even better, they could give Taylor the chance to run out and interrupt Kanye while he was at center stage.
About hosting Saturday Night Live, she says:
“There are definitely some hilarious things that have happened to me over the past couple of months that I think will be pretty substantial skits.”
