Unbelievable. In the Travolta extortion case, MP Picewell Forbes causes a mistrial. Sadly, this poor family has to go through another trial. Find out what happened here.

Here’s some background on the Travolta extortion case. 16-year-old Jett Travolta died earlier this year, while on holiday in the Bahamas with his family after suffering a seizure. Following the teen’s death, Pleasant Bridgewater and Tarino Lightbourne attempted to extort $25 million from the movie star after threatening to release a form that was signed by the actor that would have allowed his son to be flown to the United States from the Bahamas for medical care rather than be treated locally. This would have relieved any liability on the part of Lightbourne (the ambulance driver). Additionally, Lightbourne had threatened that he would ’sell stories’ that indicated that Travolta was responsible for Jett’s death. Instead, Jett was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Wednesday night, while speaking at a political convention, MP Picewell Forbes announced that Pleasant Bridgewater was “a free woman”. Just how did he know that if the jury was still isolated in a deliberation room? Supreme Court Justice Anita Allen was forced to declare a mistrial, ‘in the interest of justice‘.

The attorney for Forbes, Anthony McKinney, said that his client was just repeating a rumor that he heard before his speech to the Progressive Liberal Party, which coincidentally is the same party that Bridgewater belongs to as well. He will face Judge Allen on Friday to explain his actions. You can see a photo of him here.

It’s hard to believe that the Travolta extortion case trial has gone on for over a month now and to have it end with MP Picewell Forbes causing a mistrial is incomprehensible. Readers, leave me your thoughts. I’ve put up a related video below as well.
