Just because Suzanne Somers was able to fight off the breast cancer she was diagnosed on her own with various hormone therapy and nutrition. And with that being said, by no means does that mean that everyone can be as lucky as she was. Sure Somers may remain a strong advocate for alternative cancer treatments, but does that mean her remedies will work or can work for everyone? Not necessarily. Read more about the view of Suzanne Somers on cancer and watch a video in which she is dissing Patrick Swayze below.
In an interview with The Today Show, Suzanne Somers shared her views on cancer and maybe just spoke a little bit too much on her thoughts regarding her friend Patrick Swayze’s death of pancreatic cancer. In the interview, Somers states that she believed that the cancer medication and NOT the cancer itself killed Swayze.
With the controversial remarks she made publicly, Somers is now regretting those statements telling Extra, “I should not have said what I said.”
But even though what was said was said and done, Somers failed to realize that her statements could have hurt those mourning Swayze’s death. My question is, did she not think that interviewers would not ask her about her close friend? Did she not prepare an answer that would be non-offensive?
When asked if she believed Swayze would still be alive if he hadn’t undergone chemotherapy, Somers replied, “I don’t know what Patrick chose, I don’t know anything about it. I apologized to his family, I apologized to his brother — I’m really, really, really sorry because everyone, when they’re choosing treatment for cancer, makes the best decision they can.”

Susie Sommers - you do not know of what you speak. Pancreatic cancer is one of the most lethal cancers. You get it and then comment on it.
You were a friend? Then act like one. It offends me that you would critize in light of the fact that Patrick died. Have you done your research? Are you now a saleswoman for herbal remedies?
I suffer from liver failure and, believe me, I take all the alternative treatments available. And, guess what, I still suffer from liver failure and will until I get a new liver.
So, until you suffer with this kind of STUFF - keep your opinions to yourself. I apologize if I am being harsh - I am, but does Lisa need to hear this? That it was HIS fault he died? NO. Cancer. Have you had cancer? I have.
Please re think your message. It is NOT welcome. People get cancer and die from it.

Knowledgeable people have said many times over many years in print and on the Internet that cancer victims die from their treatment more often than from the disease. So, no one should be offended or surprised by hearing that may have been true of Patrick. I tried to get him to go to a doctor in Rome, Italy who has a 90% cure rate for all types of cancer, but he refused. So, he died. Go figure.
TV news recently reported that over 500,000 American victims of cancer are now dying annually of that disease. How can anyone seeing that figure consider the American cancer industry approach to fighting cancer anything other than a colossal ongoing failure of massive proportions? If they cared to the slightest degree for those innocent lives, they would abandon their largely ineffective–over 60 billion dollar a year–cash cow treatment system that many call quackery (since both chemo and radiation actually cause cancer) and look at other approaches that have long demonstrated the ability to cure that disease on a consistent basis–Dr. Simoncini and Mr. Royal Rife spring immediately to mind. I can only attribute their delay to abysmal ignorance and supreme stupidity since the only alternative to that possibility is cruelty on a level matching or exceeding that of Adolph Hitler during WWII. When will we begin executing doctors for criminal malpractice amounting to mass murder?
