Will Rod Blagojevich’s Celebrity Apprentice appearance be permitted by the courts? That should be decided this week as the matter is contemplated by a judge.
Not long ago he was barred from participating in ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here’ because the judge refused to give him permission to leave the country. The judge, who seemed irritated at the notion, said: “I don’t think this defendant in all honesty … fully understands the position he finds himself in.” After being denied, his wife Patty filled in for him.
Now he is seeking permission to appear on Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice reality show. There is still no word on whether or not he’ll be a contestant, or be a part of it in some other capacity. Either way, the prosecution will most likely make the claim that his appearance could have an effect on jury selection.
One thing to consider is that he is not specifically disallowed from traveling inside the country. Also, he has to support his family somehow, right? Observers expect those points to be made by his attorneys this week as they attempt to get their client on the show.
I’m on the fence about this one. Granted, it might make it seem like he is taking his corruption case lightly to be gallivanting around on television. But for his sake, it’s an opportunity to try to show the world that he isn’t some kind of monster. I have to tell you, my opinion of him drastically changed after seeing his wife on ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here.” She was clearly distraught by what had transpired, and seemed like a regular, sweet lady. But then again…she isn’t the one accused of the quid quo pro of Obama’s senate seat, now is she?
