Diddy’s ring flew off during the taping of 106 & Park at CBS Studios in NYC this week. But did he get the $20,000 bling back? Get the details here.
I hate to say it, but maybe he had this coming. He was reportedly making an appearance on the show to promote a new music video. He was on stage throwing what everybody thought were fake $100 bills into the crowd. It turns out there was some real cash mixed in. The crowd got a little fired up when they heard there was real money involved, but what would happen next sent them over the top.
It turns out that in the process of throwing the money a pricey ring slipped off of his finger and vanished. When the cameras stopped filming they announced that it was missing and people frantically jumped down on the floor looking for it. They even held everyone in the studio until all 160 audience members were subjected to a metal-detector wand. It sounds like they weren’t too thrilled about the treatment.
Here are two different tweets from people who were there:
“[W]hen it was over, diddy held us hostage lookin for his lost ring. dont like him no more!!”
AND
“Ok diddy lost his ring . . . and now there frisking all the kids like this is rikers lite.”
Well, it never turned up. Somebody must have taken it. Hey these are tough times, and it was worth slightly less than the average annual income of most people in the United States.
I’ll go ahead and point out the obvious: throwing money into the crowd implies that “money ain’t a thing,” but judging by his reaction to the lost jewelry, I’m guessing it really is.
Here’s what Diddy tweeted about the incident:
“The craziest s- - - just happened to me lol I guess its s- - - -in on me season . . . Enjoy it while it lasts!!!!! lol life is crazy!”
I’m sure whoever took Diddy’s ring is going to return it promptly.
