Kate Gosselin was on the Today show this week to give her side of the developing divorce saga between her and Jon, including his withdrawal of over $200,000 from their joint bank account.
Boy is it getting ugly between these two. At first, I couldn’t decide whose side I was on. I initially felt bad for Jon because of the constant nagging and belittling he endured. Then I jumped on Kate’s side after seeing Jon’s schmuck-like behavior immediately after they split. I think what did it for me was when he began traipsing around with his twenty-something girlfriend like he was a rock star. Well, now he has really done himself in.
TLC apparently fired Jon, who then reacted by claiming that ALL OF A SUDDEN the show is unhealthy for his children, and that any TLC employees on his property will be considered trespassers. Then he withdrew $230,000 from their bank account, even though Kate’s lawyers claim he was specifically forbidden to do so.
Now Kate has appeared on the Today show, and she claims that the measly $1,000 that Jon left her is not enough to cover the bills she owes. Kate said:
“I have a stack of bills in my purse I can’t put in the mail…I need that money to provide for (the kids).”
So what about Jon’s contention that the show is somehow bad for the kids? Kate spoke about that as well, saying:
“I told the kids over the weekend we’re not filming at this point and times eight, there was wailing and sobbing. They love our crew. They love the interaction. They love the events. There’s nothing harmful about it. They’re angry.”
It really feels like Jon withdrew that money out of spite. If the kids are really the number one priority as they both claim, then they really need to figure out a way to work together in this situation.
