Madonna and Lady GaGa made a joint appearance on SNL this weekend. The two stars were in a skit together where they gave a mock performance that ended in a brawl!
Madonna is no stranger to SNL. She has not only been on the show many times, but also hosted it. I always find it amazing how long she has been able to stay relevant and continue to sell records. So it is fitting that both ladies appear on the show together, especially because the two are being compared more and more these days.
Their appearances came in the skit called Deep House Dish. Both singers came out like they were going to perform, and even started into a small dance routine together before they began to play fight with each other. Lady GaGa reached over and got a handful of Madonna’s hair, and from there hilarity ensued. They were bickering and pushing each other around until the “host” called them over to the couch where he sat between them.
Once on the couch they began to play into some of the comparisons that the media has drawn between them. First Lady GaGa says, “Hey, guess what Madonna? I’m totally hotter than you.” Madonna then jumps out of her seat and says, “Hey guess what? I’m totally taller than you. What kind of name is ‘Lady GaGa?’ It sounds like baby food.”
Her reply? “The kind that’s number one on the Billboard charts!” The host then asks them to “kiss” and make-up, a clear reference to the on air smooch between Madonna, Britney, and Christina Aguilera.
Overall it was pretty funny. I was surprised because in my opinion, SNL has been a little bit lame lately. Check out some photos, and the video of their appearance below, and give your take on it in the comments section.
