Mitchel Musso’s ‘Shout It’ music video has premiered. It is in support of the third single from the Disney Channel actor and emerging teen pop star’s recently released self-titled debut album.
In addition to his role as Oliver Oken on the Disney sitcom Hannah Montana, the 18-year-old has embarked upon his career as a solo music artist; his album was released in June on Walt Disney Records and debuted at No. 19 on the Billboard 200.
Mitchel Musso co-wrote the song with Tim Myers. It features an appearance from his brother Mason Musso who is the frontman of the electro-pop band Metro Station. The Shout It lyrics can be seen here. The song was one of four which he co-wrote for his album which features production from noted hitmaker Max Martin (Britney Spears) and PJ Bianco (the Jonas Brothers) among others. The album additionally features a guest appearance from pop singer Katelyn Tarver.
His new video had its official premiere on Sept. 29 on the Disney sitcom JONAS which stars the Jonas Brothers. It uses footage from the teen pop star’s recent tour, including footage of his performance at the Fillmore New York at Irving Plaza, a concert which was also streamed online on Facebook.
In a recent interview, he discussed his transition from Hannah Montana actor to teen pop star.
“Music is the first place where I can just be Mitchel. I’m not playing a character. I don’t have a script or a call time. Acting consists of what to say, where to go and who you are. With music, I make my own call time and write my own script.”
The tour wrapped on Sept. 24 and was his first headlining tour. It included a performance in early Sept. at the House of Blues in Boston. Video and pictures of his live performance at the landmark club can be seen here. Mitchel Musso’s ‘Shout It’ music video can be seen below.
