Arizona Cardinal’s Wide Receiver Larry Fitzgerald’s brother Marcus was very active on Twitter during their game against the Jacksonville, where he even called Kurt Warner an “OLD A*** MAN.”
The journey of Twitter is almost like the movie iRobot: technology that was created with a benevolent purpose turns against you. In the film, the once helpful robots use an interesting twist of logic to justify the complete annihilation of humans. As for Twitter, it could be a very useful way of conveying brief, informative updates to a large network of followers—if only it was used for that. Instead, we are subjected to rants from just about any half-wit with an opinion. And you know, opinions are like….I think you know the rest.
One glaring example came during and after the Arizona Cardinal’s recent victory over the Jaguars. The brother of a wide receiver on the field decided to share his thoughts on the record-setting Kurt Warner. Apparently miffed that his brother wasn’t being thrown the ball enough, Marcus tweeted a series of messages about Warner. Here are just a few:
“Kurt Warner plays like a damn 80-year-old, my brother just texted me during halftime pissed off.”
The next one shows a little more frustration:
“Ok another drive & kurt doesn’t throw to Larry. YOU OLD A** MAN THROW HIM THE DAMN BALL.”
I guess Warner, who lead his team to the Superbowl last year, finally satisfied Marcus when he completed a pass to his brother. Here’s his tweet following the play:
“Bout time kurt! I almost had to come to Jacksonville & strangle his a** LMAO.”
After a fun night of blasting Warner’s decisions on the field, he apparently sought redemption. He removed the Tweets that were critical of the QB, and threw in the following message:
“morning guys.up early @ team breakfast.I made a gaffe this weekend when jokin about kurt warner throwin the ball 2 my bro.I was only kidding & the media obviously tried 2 stir up something. But that was on me,I shoulda known better.Larry had nothing 2 do w/ ne thing.I apologize 4 that one.Hope u guys all have a blessed day.Now its time 4 me to put n work @ practice.hit u guys later.”
