Miley Cyrus’ Party in the U.S.A. music video debuted on DWTS, and once again the young Disney star is under scrutiny. Check out the official video here and judge for yourself!

Okay, I have to admit, while I have not been a fan of Miley’s music in the past, I am totally rockin’ out to her new single, Party in the U.S.A.. In the past I have found her music to be too Disney popish for me, but this song is so catchy and fun, you can’t help but like it!

So what is the problem? Once again people are ragging on the poor girl for being too sexy. Perez Hilton calls it a “mature music video” with “Short shorts. Push-up bra. Cleavage accentuated. Dancing seductively in front of a large American flag.”

Yes, the shorts are too short for school – they definitely don’t come down to her fingertips, but she is not in school, and to be honest the schools have pretty much given up on this battle too. She is a 16, almost 17-year-old pop star! I hate to break it to ya – this is what I was wearing as a 16-year-old girl and what most 16 year olds are wearing! And if their parents aren’t letting them, they are changing at school. Trust me, my parents chose to fight this battle and they lost cause I was sneaking it in my backpack!

Give the girl a break; it is a fun song, a cute theme, with great lyrics about staying true to yourself, even if you are in Hollywood!

Let’s not forget, Miley will be 17 in November. When Britney Spears was 17 she had her first single Baby One More Time, which makes Miley’s video look tame. The girl is a pop star, what do you expect? She needs to start slowly making the transition for kiddie pop to young adult music, and she can’t just do it in one big jump.
