John Travolta

Two witnesses took the stand today during the Travolta extortion trial - ambulance driver Tarino Lightbourne and former Bahamas Senator Pleasant Bridgewater. The two are accused of trying to extort $25 million from Travolta in a blackmail threat to go public with a “refusal of medical attention” form. Travolta’s 16-year-old son Jett died after suffering a seizure while at the Travolta family home in the Bahamas in January.

The elder Travolta requested that Jett be taken immediately to the airport so that he could be flown out and receive medical treatment in the U.S. rather than be taken to a Bahamian hospital. The “refusal of medical attention” form was signed but somewhere along the way, plans changed, and Jett was transported to Rand Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. John Travolta will reportedly take the witness stand on Wednesday. You can see a related video of the extortion trial below.
