The Michael Jackson tribute concert that was reportedly organized by Jermaine Jackson has been officially postponed until 2010.
There has been a ton of controversy surrounding this concert, especially amongst the Jackson family members as to who would and/or should be performing for this tribute. One of the major set backs is the fact that getting together a lineup has been nearly impossible due to scheduling conflicts or so says the organizer.
About the concert delay, Jermaine apologized saying, “Many artists and performers who I have spoken to personally told me that it would be a great honor to be part of this memorial concert for my late brother. However, due to the short time frame it was not possible for many of them to change their schedule so that they could be on stage in Vienna on 26 September, therefore we decided, after careful consideration, to change the date of the tribute concert to June 2010 – just a few weeks before the first anniversary of his untimely death.
Jermaine continued, “Instead of eight weeks we now have eight months to prepare and some of the stars who would not have been able to participate in the Vienna concert, but expressed their wish to participate in this event, will be able to perform live on stage at the renowned Wembley Stadium in London in June 2010.”
