Here is the official Preston Dressed to Kill video and lyrics. It is the lead single from the British pop singer-songwriter’s forthcoming debut solo studio album. See photos, music video, and of course the Preston Whatever Forever album track-listing here.

Preston

The singer-songwriter whose full name is Samuel Preston is formerly the frontman of the indie rock pop band The Ordinary Boys which was active from 2002 to 2008. He is also known for his 2006 appearance on Celebrity Big Brother, finishing in fourth place and likewise known for his involvement and subsequent marriage to and divorce from the winner Chantelle Houghton.

This is his debut solo single officially released on August 23, which he wrote and co-produced. It samples the 1980 song by Siouxsie & the Banshees’ Happy House. I Like Music quotes him as discussing the new solo effort, which he has worked on since leaving The Ordinary Boys in April 2008, and explaining its impetus and development of the forthcoming Preston Whatever Forever Album.

“I wanted to go into the studio like a mad professor, trying everything, always experimenting. I guess that could be seen as being really self-indulgent, but I’d never been able to do before because of the confines of being in a band. Sometimes the band were worried about doing something that would tread on the fans toes, but I think it’s actually nice to tread on the fans toes now and again because it wakes them up. It gives them a reminder of what it they saw in you in the first place, why you are different to everything else that’s out there.”

The new single of which the new Preston Dressed to Kill video is in support, and forthcoming album mark his return to the music world after the highly publicized stint on Celebrity Big Brother, as well as the 2007 Never Mind The Buzzcocks, which saw him walking off the set during filming. In a recent interview with the BBC he says he regrets his conduct and reveals he has concerns about how the public will respond to his return to music about which he told the news organization he is “terrified.”

He co-produced his debut solo album with Elton Welsby and it is scheduled to be released in October 2009 on B-Unique records. Check back for the Preston Whatever Forever album track-listing.
