It has been a movie ten years in the making, or so we can assume since we haven’t heard much from director James Cameron since the hit Titanic. Now, his highly anticipated creation titled Avatar is about the hit the big screen, but of course, not without some teasers. Read more about Cameron’s new movie, see the Avatar trailer and photos here.
Avatar is the highly anticipated flick from Titanic’s creator James Cameron.
The cinematography looks amazingly beautiful and if you are into sci-fi flicks, Avatar will be right up your alley. According to IMDB, “In the future, Jake, a paraplegic war veteran, is brought to another planet, Pandora, which is inhabited by the Na’vi, a humanoid race with their own language and culture. Those from Earth find themselves at odds with each other and the local culture.” It may seem like another humans versus aliens theme in mind which we have seen before in various films such as Aliens Vs. Predators and District 9, but what will really grab you if the sci-fi genre doesn’t is the technology used to create the movie. Apparently the reasoning behind Cameron putting off the completion of the flick is the wait for the necessary technology needed to complete his project.
Last month at the San Diego, California Comic-Con, James Cameron did release 24 minutes of the film and expects to release a 16-minute featurette to at least 100 IMAX theaters tomorrow August 21, 2009.
Cast members include Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez and Sigourney Weaver.
Avatar is set to hit the big screen December 18, 2009. Check out the Avatar trailer below. Is it all you expected and more?
