Reading Rainbow’s Levar Burton, commonly misspelled Lavar Burton, was in a car crash in West Los Angeles on Monday night, July 13th, 2009. The crash is said to have caused a five car pileup, which resulted in no major injuries. Read more about the horrible car crash here. People

I’m surprised he was driving [although the story isn't clear on that point.] According to a “Star Trek” web site:
“He’s been blind since birth, but sees through the use of the VISOR (Visual Instrument and Sensory Organ Replacement) he wears over his eyes.”
