Rumors recently hit the internet the the South Park Mexican (SPM) died while in prison. But Carlos Coy is said to be alive and kickin’, still in jail, having had his bail and parole denied. This appears to be just one of the many dead celebrity rumors that hit in the wake of the Michael Jackson aftermath.

As a biography, Carlos Coy 38 years old. He grew up in the South Park neighborhood of Houston, thus giving birth to his stage name, the South Park Mexican (SPM). He attended Milby High School until he dropped out in 1987. However, he later obtained his GED and attended San Jacinto Junior College.

After entering college, SPM began rapping. His first album, Hillwood, dropped in 1992 and he released four albums by 2000. He earned his major label deal and national distribution through Universal Music Group, while working with his own label, Dope House Records.

In 2002, SPM was charged with 7 counts of sexual assault, with a 9-year-old girl as the victim. His bail was initially denied, the judge having found that the evidence presented “substantially shows guilt”. In the end, Coy was convicted, and continues to serve his time. He was sentenced to 45 years in prison.

But rest assured, fans, sources say that the SPM died rumors are not true.
